VERY NICE
he main reason i got this item is because i want to go camping with my bi-pap. Currently I use a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto with humidifier and heated hose. I used the S1000 Explorer 1000 2 nights in a row without recharging and still had about 22% of the battery left. Of course this comes with solar chargers, and regular recharger, but I wanted to see how many nights I could use my gear without needing to recharge (if perchance it was going to be rainy or overcast while camping) Worked perfectly for me, and I can't wait to get it out to the field.
NOTE: I did purchase a DC adapter for the Bi-pap. If you use regular AC, I'm sure the usage time will be a lot shorter, because of the nature of AC vs DC.
This is perfect for seniors who camp a lot. We looked at the S1000 because of concerns over price and weight. My son, who has both, brought them over and I tested the weight and the 1000 was fine. Given the things we plan to use it with, the 1000 was the best choice. It fits comfortably in the hold of our RV. The great thing is we can use our electric appliances away from our unit as say on the picnic table. The 1000 is much easier to set up than a 20-pound propane and a lot cheaper than buying the 1-pound canisters. When we were in Alaska, we ran out of propane a couple of times. If we had had the S1000 that would not have been an issue. The worst case is we could have charged it as we were driving. We even use the panels to top up the RV house batteries.
I'm extremely impressed with this little thing. It takes roughly a full day to charge to full after depletion. It'll recharge my travel trailer's deep cycle battery, it's a HUGE battery so I'll say it recharges it about 30-40% give or take over night. It's not loud compared to a gas generator but still has its fan noise that can be heard. Per instructions I don't run anything while the panels are attached but it does well running a jigsaw and hand sander and other small power tools. I got this as a quick temporary generator until I get full solar put on the trailer. But will continue to use it as a nice portable power source. Very impressed. Cloudy day today recharging at around 100w clear day around 126w.
I got this generator for the Travel Trailer and wanted to check it out. So I charged the new unit yesterday, then today brewed coffee with our 10 cup coffee pot. The brewer said 900W on the bottom, so I tried it out. The fan ran on the generator and it used between 796 and 850 watts while brewing it took the pot about 10 minutes to brew the full 10 cups. The generator said it went from 100% charged to 87% charged and then to keep the coffee warm it used 8w. I'm very happy that now I can have brewed coffee when we camp.
