from 32 reviewsI’ve used the power supply only once since it’s purchase. As a minimalist camper, the power supply worked as advertised. At 99% charge, it provided power to run a 12V DC fan all night and fully charged an almost depleted metal detector, iPad, and cell phone to full charge.. The remaining power on my DW501 indicated 74%. I recharged the unit with my 160 watt solar panels in approximately 2.5 hours. I believe the EF Pro will serve me well in my future camping excursions. Overall... very pleased.
MR Double Carbon DW501 is very easy to move around and has lasted on a full charge 4 nights running my CPAP machine, without a problem. Is a must during a power outage. The fan noise level is noticeable but not to bad.
Happy with it so far. Using my SystemOne CPAP for one night with no humidifier (AC plug in) took about 20% battery. Charges super fast with the AC option. Haven't tried the others yet. Customer service is great.
I bought this power station after looking at several. For the price you can't beat this unit. I'm using it for my RV as a bridge while in between destinations. It's lightweight enough so moving it isn't a issue and it's sized just right for my needs. In the picture I have the unit sitting between the driver and passenger seats in the Rv. This way I can run my cell booster and charge it at the same time. For night stops I can plug the Rv power cord into it and am able to get over 7 hrs without charging it. This will be put to the test this week.
The fan noise is minimal. Didn't even notice it while testing it today.
The mobile app is remarkable. It's great to be able to check its status without having to go to the unit.
Very happy with this purchase. No buyers remorse at all.
Mr double carbon DW501 came before expected …packaging was apple quality..build quality is very good ..I brought the Mr double carbon DW501 to recharge tools, phone, cameras and to run a vacuum when I don’t have access to power when I’m out doing service and repairs so far has been working awesomely…The super fast recharge time is game changing would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy a portable power station
very nice for camping , I can enjoy more
Works really well for camping. The weight wasn't an issue and it fit in my large backpack. I used it all weekend to charge 2 phones, a tablet and two lamps via USB. I still had more than half of the battery left. It's great for back up energy and it will especially useful when hurricane season begins here in Florida.
The MR Double Carbon DW501 Portable Power Station 555Wh was purchased as a holiday gift as an upgrade for a person who does van camping. Upon receiving it, it was charged within an hour and awaiting its installation in the van. The next day we lost power for 10 hours--unfortunately the MR Double Carbon River was put to a test. We were able to charge tablets, phones, lanterns, eCig batteries ;), headlamps, and other devices during the outage with power spare. Well worth the investment.
he main reason i got this item is because i want to go camping with my bi-pap. Currently I use a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto with humidifier and heated hose. I used the S1000 Explorer 1000 2 nights in a row without recharging and still had about 22% of the battery left. Of course this comes with solar chargers, and regular recharger, but I wanted to see how many nights I could use my gear without needing to recharge (if perchance it was going to be rainy or overcast while camping) Worked perfectly for me, and I can't wait to get it out to the field.
NOTE: I did purchase a DC adapter for the Bi-pap. If you use regular AC, I'm sure the usage time will be a lot shorter, because of the nature of AC vs DC.
This is perfect for seniors who camp a lot. We looked at the S1000 because of concerns over price and weight. My son, who has both, brought them over and I tested the weight and the 1000 was fine. Given the things we plan to use it with, the 1000 was the best choice. It fits comfortably in the hold of our RV. The great thing is we can use our electric appliances away from our unit as say on the picnic table. The 1000 is much easier to set up than a 20-pound propane and a lot cheaper than buying the 1-pound canisters. When we were in Alaska, we ran out of propane a couple of times. If we had had the S1000 that would not have been an issue. The worst case is we could have charged it as we were driving. We even use the panels to top up the RV house batteries.
I happened on the smaller model as I'm a full time RV'er. Showed it to my son after some research he upped me to the 1000. Day 1 I ran my single serve coffee, high watts 800 while heating the water but you don't use all day so that short burst only took me down to 96% Charged all of my electronics, laptop phone etc. Ran my desktop computer and TV for a couple of hours, then the TV and dvd player for several hours more in the evening. Brought it down to 55% then in the morning another cup of coffee. Went out about 6:30 and set up both panels 2:30 100% again! I have to add I live in the deserst so lots of sun. A week ago before I got this it was cold and windy for 2 days and I ran my generator about 6 hours each day. Cost me almost half of a tank of gas. Now I can do most everything but the heater and it costs nothing (bought a propane heater) problem solved. This is going to give me the freedom to travel more as now I save gas no generator. FYI I'm handicapped and its light and easy for me to manage so 2 thumbs up! Only ding, I wish the cables to the solor panels were longer. My son set the unit up on a shelf in my RV to make plugging things in easy for me, I'm able to place panels outside easy enough but as the sun moves and shadows fall I have to keep moving panels and a bit longer cord would have allowed me to lay them flat in one space all day.
The MR Double Carbon DW501 was very deligent with their follow up. I purchased the unit n immediately went traveling. We did have a problem but we worked through it an the The MR Double Carbon DW501 saves me every night when I am off grid n need power for My CPAP.
I am grateful to have it-!-
The Unit came with greasy Hand Prints all over it and I was not happy with that~!~
I like the fast charge capability using the home AC with the option to use standard charging if you have the time. The standard charge usage increases the number of 100% lifecycles.
The screen information provides all the system status for my operation and it proved intuitive to use.
At present, I have no dislikes but understand this is my first unit in this category; more time is needed.
I am now waiting for the extended battery; I would not have purchased this it if I had doubts about this product.
I bought this as an alternative to upgrading both my deep cycle battery in my small hiker camper trailer and the battery in my truck for when Im over landing. I mainly use it to power an ARB freezer cooler, which it can easily do for days without recharging with solar panels. These panels seem pretty decent, even when entirely overcast I was getting 23 watts, and since the ARB is only drawing 2-6w I think power is no longer an issue for when camping. Its also a nice piece of mind to have around in case of a power outage.
